San Clemente Island Chapter is located in beautiful South Orange County, California

We are an energetic group of about 135 members.  Among us, you will find teachers, medical professionals, lawyers, young mothers and grandmothers, and women from all walks of life.  Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership in the DAR.

In joining, we have found many opportunities for new experiences and ways to give back to our community.  Daughters of the American Revolution is an organization for women which offers a great variety of choices for involvement in areas of interest to the individual.   Our members are actively involved in the community libraries, schools, literacy programs, museums and aid to military families and veterans.

Our mission is to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism.  We may join for the respected ideals of DAR, but along the way, we make lifelong friends and make a difference in our community.

The chapter's name was chosen because of proximity to San Clemente Island.  Our meetings are typically held in the San Juan Capistrano area.  Our membership draws from South Orange County cities such as San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, Ladera Ranch and Rancho Mission Viejo.  Local residency is not a requirement for membership.
